With the status quo so solid in DC, do you think his rivals would thwart his efforts? I would like to believe he could change things, but I’m too jaded with the process. What do you think?
Do you think Sen. Obama can really change things in Washington if elected president?

I think he has the best chance of all the top-tier candidates.

I have Never been more excited about a candidate. This guy is a phenomenon and has united people all over the country. I have read so many articles how people around the world are fascinated with him and have said “if you guys don’t want him, we’d love to”. I’ve never seen anything like it. He started out like a distant light that glares bright and brighter over time. He’s inspirational, Makes me want to be a better person & Reminds me of what it means to be American.
Over the years i have became only in tuned to me & my family. at some point i lost compassion for other people, i lost the ability to see things from other peoples point a few, often shallow & selfish. It is very strange to me how a complete stranger has came into my life & reminded me how to be a human again. I have regained my compassion for people that i don’t know, people that are different than me & feel somewhat reconnected. this campaign has reconnected me with my better self.

No, he will not accomplish anything because he will not have what it takes to get the tough negotiations done. He will not accomplish anything Nationally or Internationally. He is too arrogant to compromise and too inexperienced to know when to give and when to push.

Has he not craved for the endorsement of Washington veteran Ted Kennedy ? What more proof is needed to suggest that he will forget that he has ever proposed the CHANGE doctrine as soon as he will be elected.

Yes, he can.
When there’s good leadership at the top, the bottom has to fall in line.

The only thing he will change is that Washington will become a black haven just like New Orleans, or what did the NO mayor call it…. a chocolate city. Why people do not see this is telling as to how brainless people are today. I feel sorry for the US.

Yes. The US have gone through a series of changes that have affected the status quo before…just read a history book.
It’s not unheard of …or THAT hard to build up a team of smart people -economist, military etc (which he’ll have to do) and start working.

If he is elected, it will change all of our lives, probably for the best. It is time for us to leave the past behind and start looking to the future. We must empower people, all people, and the best way to do that is to change what is happening at the highest echelon of government. He has a lot of determination, intelligence and seems to be inflappable, that is what we need in a president!
I have faith in America, and I pray every day not to become jaded, although it is certainly a difficult struggle.

I think of all of them he’s the only one who will at the very least try his hardest to change things. Anyone else and it will be more of the status quo and we can’t take that anymore. I am all for giving him a chance – it can’t be as bad as Bush has been for 8 years.

No. He hasn’t done squat as a Senator.

No, and to all those who say he has united america, he hasn’t united me FOR anything. All I see is that he has united America against another democrat of his own party.

Hell, that ” deaf, dumb and blind kid ” from pinball wizard would change things. And for the better.

Yes, I absolutely think that Sen. Obama will change things if elected POTUS.
1. He will raise the tax rate on the wealthiest Americans (read income over $200k) to nearly 50%
2. He will withdraw american troops from everywhere in the world, thus allowing the unfettered genocide in Africa, the spread of radical Islam, and the resurgance of Soviet-era totalitarian style communism.
3. He will offer amnesty to all illegal immigrants in the U.S. and their families as well.
4. to prevent animosity between the US and Mexico he will cede a large portion of the Southwest back to Mexico, with an apology for the Mexican/American war (no evidence of this from his campaign, but he wants to make the rest of the countries in the world happy, and this is what Mexico seems to want)
5. He will implement a Universal Healthcare system like those in place in Canada and Great Brittan (you know that emergency apendectimy, we can get to it in just under 6 months) thus eliminating any patent protection for the pahrmesudical industry (and those evil little profits required to develop things like pennicillin and the polio vaccine)
These are just a few changes I am sure he will try to implement and will be successful in many of which.

No I don’t. It’s not that I have anything against him because I don’t and I think he will give it a good try but he just does not have the experience he needs. Maybe in another eight years and more time in politics. I think in time he would be a great president just not now.

Yes, here are the things he will “change”:
-He will raise the income tax.
-He will raise the capital gains tax.
-He wants Universal Healthcare.
-He will surrender in Iraq.
-He will weaken the military.
-He will not be on the offensive against islamic extremists.
-He will grant amnesty to illegal immigrants.
So, yes he will change things, but not for the better of the country.

I think all we will here is everyone calling each other RACISTS…and Obama will spin his wheels trying to accomplish anything with no one trusting or favoring him. People should understand that you must pay your political dues (unsavory as it sounds, it works in the long run) to accomplish anything in Washington! That is one place where you need ‘friends’ and the respect of Congress to be effective! Obama has none of this and even though he may be popular, the sad truth is we need more than the ‘most liked’ as President….this isn’t Senior Prom King election-this is OUR COUNTRY that’s at stake!
