I’m sure the clips of Wright are played many more times than the speech Obama made is heard or read. Is it fair to judge Obama based on his pastor if his own words are not even heard?
How many people who judge Obama based on Rev. Wright actually listened to his speech on race?

I’ve listened to 4 now. I am waiting for my new dvd I just ordered. That’s the one where the government runs the clan and Italians are garlic noses.

I have heard the speech and it was a non sequiter. He chose to be a member of that church and donate tens of thousands to it. He would know the attitude of the church. There is no way he has not heard those things before.

Ahhhh so judging him on TWENTY YEARS of DEDICATED membership in his church is “wrong”…..
But judging him on a 5 minute “get my poll numbers turned around” speech is perfectly acceptable…..
NOW I UNDERSTAND…….
… I understand why I proudly vote Republican!

Last I saw Wright isn’t running for President so I really don’t care what he says.
I will judge Obama on the things Obama says.

I saw his speech. I also saw him talk of a “typical white person”. The speech was more divisive then ever.

Yes I’ve listened to it. And yes it is fair to judge Obama based on Rev. Wright’s hateful traitorous ideology. Obama liked him enough to be his good buddy, go to his church for over twenty years, and even dedicate his book to him. I think that it stands to reason that Obama shares Rev. Wright’s ideals. It would make less sense if he didn’t.

Obama’s speech, as usual, tried to play the race card by attempting to lay a guilt trip on white people.—It was disgusting the way he dishonored his white granny ( who raised him & WAS family ) but refused to ” disown ” that vile, hate-filled, anti-american racist Jermiah Wright ( who is NOT family ) but ” is like family ” —- I REFUSE to accept Obama’s racist lies & accept ANY blame or feel ANY guilt for something that my ancestors ( NOT ME ) did to Obama’s ancestors ( NOT HIM ) almost 150 years ago !! —- Should I blame ALL black people ( the way Obama blames ALL white people ) because FBI statistics reveal that a disproportionate % of Crime IS commited by Blacks in America today ??? —-WHY doesn’t Obama address the fact that BLACK SLAVES ARE OWNED BY BLACK MASTERS ( NOT WHITE MASTERS ) in Africa today ???

I have seen that speech all the way through, twice, on two different channels. I just got a different view out of it then you did. I am not blinded by the obama light.
And by the way, I have said repeatedly that I am not blaming obama for what his pastor said, but by the bad judgment that obama has shown. I blame him for going to a church that spews hate for close to twenty years. and then saying that he wasn’t there for the bad parts. then he was, and then he wasn’t there for all of them. What did wright do, look around the church and say, oh, obama isn’t here so I can spew my hate words. Does that make sense to you? The church had a monthly magazine called the trumpet, that wright did the same thing in. He says that he doesn’t agree with “some” of them. Which ones does he not believe and which ones does he believe. And you can’t pick your relatives, but you can pick your pastor. And a person usually picks a person that they believe at least a good bit the way they do. I don’t trust him.

I’ve seen the Rev Wright stuff and listened to the speech twice.
Brilliant speech, delivered well.
Problem is, if you take time to look at the actual content … I just didn’t buy it. I believe that speech went WAY over its intended targets (i.e. “Typical” White America and “Typical” African Americans). Instead, it played well with college professors and latte liberals in the media.
I was left asking myself … what does this this stuff actually mean for the average person on the street?
Maybe it’s just me.
