No one said anything about actually allowing one to be built. Rest assured that except for those with PERSONAL financial interest, ALL elected Democrats will fight to prevent that happening.

Our electricity is made 82% by nuclear powered plans and in fact when we compare the price
in Europa we do pay the cheepest price for 1 Kw.
In fact some poeple may worry especially if they are near from the cooling tower and the cloud is visible from far but if we think how many poeple would have died for the same quantity of power:
I think to workers who fall as they work on dams in the mountain.10 to 20 for a dam
I think to poeple working incoal mine with sure the different accident but too the meanest diseases “silicosis” after 20 years they have to survive with an oxygen bottle day and night.
We will have too in the future a miss of Uranium and we have been looking to work with another component but the generator was not safe.Phoenix and super phénix they don’t say a lot!It seems that they stopped it but now they do make some try.
An sure we buy lot less petroleum…..we have quite none in France 3% of our consumption.
In fact for an américan it seems that we talk too more OK but when we build or fix anything it works we must talk before..we built the longest bridges but avoid the hight buildings real or coming from past?..fe in the States there are troubles with eardquake in some places
can we built a basis which will resist to an hard eard quake especially in Ca where they need bad energy.
Don’t hurry any body must give advices from the geologist to the mason!!!and after a while take the decision by a commission pluridisciplinaire you understand.

In fact he has no other solution for 30 years at least you have just to care the trash and don’t spill it into your garden your vegetables will become shiny glowing in the night!

As always though with Obama there’s a catch. I heard on the news today that approval will be linked to.. CAP N TRADE!

He’s a slick one isn’t he.

I was actually very shocked to see that. During the campaign, Obama would only mention nuclear if someone asked him. And then it was “just part of the mix.” His own campaign web site said nothing about nuclear, but alot about wind and solar.

I’m still not convinced he means it. Somehow I figure the federal gov’t will gum up the works and prevent that money from being spent on nuclear plants.

The part that you like concerning nuclear power is great. However, other things need to be considered. What happens to the other natural fuel industries? I tend to get nervous when I think of Chernobyl and Three Mile Island. .
Zero emissions,yes, but you also ruin land by building the stuff,and the air clears up enough so you can stare at the ugly buildings.
