That’s not quite it. People wanted to stand behind a leader after a shocking tragedy and loss. But gradually the truths behind the various misdeedsï»¿ of the Bush administration have come out. Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo Bay detention camp, private contracting killers through tax dollars to fight a war for oil companies, zero negotiations with Iran or North Korea, abandonment of the Kyoto Treaty, Domestic Spy Program, threatened abandonment of Social Security or just privatizing SSI to Wall St.,etc.

I agree ! Who was it that said (in hard times) some will turn to religion and (God forbid) GUNS ! Folks, this is 2008 and times are very bad for a lotï»¿ of us. Hatehas reared its ugly head and I, for one,am both fearful and ashamed !!

*I agree with, and appreciate your video. This was my fear for Obama’s run for presidency. I wanted to vote for Clinton for this very reason. I believe that he could be a great president, but will not have the freedom to do so. Sadly if he is elected the views of Birmingham, AL. 1960sï»¿ could vehemently resurface, and spread. I can only pray that if he’s given the chance at this great position that he can serve his term(s)safely. We need change, but not at the expense of the life of a good man.

Just because you don’t likeï»¿ him doesn’t mean he won’t fight for issues that will affect you. You can hate him all you want, after all, that’s the GOP way. But that won’t deter him or his administration from trying to improve the quality of your life.

The message from Obama/Biden and the DNC right now is unity, not hate. I’ve seen some of the rhetoric at mccain/palin rallies and it’s anything butï»¿ unifying. Hateful, divisive, and scapegoating. That’s no way to bring a country together in a time of crisis. It’s also why you see a lot of long time republicans abandoning their party during this election.
