I have to write a paragraph on “whats the big deal about this person? why does he deserve to be the subject of a biography”. A man comes from middle-class beginnings and works hard to get into college and become a white-collar professional. While in college, he takes an interest in the social inequality he sees amongst the people in his country and becomes an activist for the poor and oppressed. Overtime, he begins to adopt socialist and Marxist policies as way to create social equality and end what he sees as “elistist rule.” He also becomes an author and poltician.

This man becomes a leader of those who feel that the goverment is “against them” and calls for change and revolution as a way to improve the lives of the lower-class.

He becomes popular among the youth, the well-educated, and Leftists. He is seen as anti-establishment and his group is viewed as the only one who can bring change in the nation. The man is known to the world Che Guevara.

We know very little about one of two men who is going to be the next leader of the U.S.. Don’t you think journalists would be letting us know this guy’s past so that we may make an informed decision on whether he is suitable for the office? Is responsible journalism dead? The only way you find out about his dealings with known communists( hawaiin mentor), slum lords(resko), terrorists(weather underground-Ayers) is by searching alternative news sources.
Why do ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN fail to let us know about Obama’s past?
I said “Biography”–not Auto-biography.

Barak Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law. He majored in Political science with a specialization of in International Relations. Obama also served as a president at the Harvard Law review. He has also worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights attorney before serving in the Senate in Illinois from 1997 to 2004. He taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago School as well. Obama was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996. Considering he was very well liked he was reelected for Illinois Senate in 1998 and again in 2002. He voted in favor of the Energy policy Act of 2005 and cosponsored the Secure America and Orderly Immigration act. He has also supported the bill for the Secure Fence Act. Obama has supported is the State Children’s Health Insurance Program which provides job protection for family members caring for soldiers. He has always said to withdraw American troops from Iraq and talked about energy independence. In July 2004 Obama wrote and delivered the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic Convention National Convention in Boston, Massachusetts. Obama considered running for the U.S senate in mid-2002 and which he actually got sworn into on January 4th, 2005. He was listed as the fifth African American senator in U.S history and third to have been popularly elected. On February 10, 2007 Obama announced his candidacy for being the president of the United States.
