Obama Administration officials have begun negotiations with congressional leaders, who are working on versions of House and Senate bills that would punish companies that sell refined petroleum products to Iran or help the country’s oil industry. The sanctions are aimed at forcing Iran to giving up its nuclear program, which Western nations fear is geared toward developing nuclear weapons and other nations are considering similar sanctions. Obama fears the sanctions will go too far.

I am just so tired of these poor poor kids rallying with Obama and not fully being aware of whats going on. Now I could go on and on trying to persuade people to vote one way or the other but Im just going to give facts…

I am a student at UNR (univ. of NV Reno) and Mr. Obama came to give a sh-peel on campus. He brought hundreds to a crowd (however the media will tell you tens of thousands!!) to gather around and listen to what he had to say. He went on and on repeating all the stuff he’s said before on tv; making his promises, what he will do, what his plans are…etc. I ask this, why is it that Ive never heard him go on and on about what he HAS done??? If he is suppose to be this miracle cure all fixer to our government and the problems we face, then where is the awesome resume to prove it?? He has been given so many chances to make a difference and strut his stuff, but yet he hasnt done diddley squat!
I guess the thing that really bothers me about this is seeing young people my age so sucummed to following the left wing liberal scene. It’s like it’s almost a fad. When he gave that speech at school they started singing! yeah..singing like some cult. lol…They wore their shirts with Obama faces on it, staring back at me…(quite frightening!)..anyways, the crowd of 20-something-year-olds was like an army of little mind-numbed robots being programmed by a socialist hollywood star and sucking in every word he says… dont get sick yet …. it’s not just him..everyday the media surrounds our youth with left wing biase that many people dont see. They just believe that everything the media says is correct and they go along with it. Why is it that the media is soooooooooooooooo left wing??? Why?
Can someone tell me that!…(FOX is an exception….1 out of how many????) Did you know that the moderator of the Palin-Biden debate tonight is a liberal, PBS reporter coming out with a book as to why everyone should vote for Obama???!!! WTF?? seriously : /

The bill in question was Senate Bill 99, introduced in the Senate in February 2003. Its broad purpose was to change and update portions of Illinois’s existing laws concerning sex education. (The text of the bill is here, and everyone interested in the issue should take a look at it.)

When the bill was introduced, a coalition of groups including the Illinois Public Health Association, the Illinois State Medical Society, the Cook County Department of Public Health, the Chicago Department of Public Health, the Illinois Planned Parenthood Council and others issued a press release headlined “Coalition of Legislators, Physicians and Organizations Bring Illinois Into the 21st Century with Omnibus Healthcare Package.” It was a three-part campaign; Senate Bill 99, covering “medically accurate sex education,” was the first part, with two other bills addressing “funding for family planning services for women in need” and “contraceptive equity in health insurance.”

According to the press release, Senate Bill 99 required that “if a public school teaches sex education, family life education, and comprehensive health education courses, all materials and instruction must be medically and factually accurate.” The bill’s main sponsor, Sen. Carol Ronen, was quoted saying, “It teaches students about the advantages of abstinence, while also giving them the realistic information they need about the prevention of an unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.” The release contained no mention of sexual predators or inappropriate touching.
