Why Don’t The Senate Republicans Just Impeach Obama?

03 Apr

Right now there are only 58 dems in the senate, which means that there are 62 republicans. How comes they don’t just impeach obama and put the Tom DeLay in the Presidancy? He is next in line afterall. Why are they so afraid to save our country? They has have the power to do it.

I don’t know where to begin correcting that statement.

    So in no particular order:
    1) There are 58 democrats and two left-leaning independents. Which means that there are 40 republicans, not 62.
    2) Tom Delay is no longer in the senate. He withdrew his 2006 campaign among a myriad of ethics probes. Mitch McConnell is the republican minority leader, Harry Reid is the democrat majority leader.
    3) The Senate Majority leader is nowhere near the top of the list in presidential succession. If Obama is impeached, the VP (Biden) takes over. If the President and VP are simultaneously incapacitated, then it’s the Speaker of the House (Pelosi), then the President Pro Tempore of the Senate (Byrd), then Secretary of State (Clinton), and then various other cabinet positions after that.
    4) The Senate doesn’t initiate impeachment, the House of Representatives does. The Senate presides over the trial if it gets to that point.
    5) Impeachment requires an offense, not a mere political disagreement.

For someone that’s concerned about ‘saving the country’, you sure don’t know much about how it’s operated.

They don’t have an impeachable offense to try him on and it would never fly even if they did. Sorry, you’re going to have to wait at least until 2012 and most likely 2016. Get used to it.

Your figures are off. The democrats now have a super majority…which means that they can pass any thing they want or vote anything down that they don’t want if they stick together.

The left has corporate backing now. The Republicans got ditched when the Democrats got the new deal. Bush was so terrible that the money powers found a new puppet and party: Obama & The Democrats. 2 wrongs don’t make a right, they make America a corporate controlled left thanks to the Federal Reserve.

Who’s got money? Not you. Goldman Sachs does though!

    Hunh? Your count is off.

There are 114 Senators, two for each of the 57 States.

There are fifty states, not sixty.
There are 100 senators, not 120
There are 60 Democrat senators (God help us) not 58
There are 40 Republican senators (see above) not 62
Impeachment starts in the House of Representatives, not the Senate.

The democrats have the majorty. And they don’t have the power to do it (please, for the love of god, correct your wording and spelling), because in order to impeach there has to be an offense. From what I can tell, you have no basic understanding of the American legal system. You’re plain ignorant.

    What for, babe?
Because you don’t like him and you said so?
I did not like your boy-Bush either and he was not impeached although he did many things to deserve it. Obama aint done nothin’ yet, son.

Uh…your math is off. If there are 58 dems, that means there are but 40 GOP (you have two independants, so they go as they wish, although they normally side with the democrats) as the total is….100

Second, If you impeach Obama, it falls to the VP, JOE BIDEN (another democrat. How odd!) to assume the presidency

You get a D- on your Governmental History test and will now write a three-page essay on the proper order of succession for the presidency. You will also do an additional paper noting who the senators are from each state and their party affiliation, plus a third paper on what constitutes an impeachable offense.

I want these papers in my hands no later than start of class on Monday

The people elected an unimpeachable president in 2008, what can I say, I tried to warn you against the triangle of Doom Obama-Pelosi-Reid. Obama would not be so bad, if he did not have complete control of the Government, but until he does something that will upset the liberals, he has no worries and I don’t see him upsetting them until it’s too late for our country to be saved*********

    (1) 58 + 62 doesn’t equal 100. We Republicans don’t have control.
    (2) No impeachable offense.
    (3) Impeachments must be commenced in the house, and then tried in the Senate.

I assume that you are a Democrat pretending to be a Republican. I seriously doubt that you are a Republican.
