Why Is It Okay To Hate Hillary Clinton And Not Barrack Obama? Why Is There A Double Standard?
Why is there a double standard for the two candidates. I’ve heard people say over and over again things like “I’m all for a woman president, I just don’t think she is the right woman.” No one ever accuses them of being sexist. But what would happen if someone said “I’m all for a black president, I just don’t think he is the right black man!” Everyone would accuse that person of being racist. Why is it okay to poke fun at her, but not him?

Yes there is a double standard. I dislike and distrust Obama. For the folks that have a problem with that, all I can say is that I have the right to be discerning when it comes to choosing the man/woman that I vote for, as everybody SHOULD be. I thought that people would be more careful after they voted in Bush for two terms. This election looks to be another major cluster-f***. Some people never learn.
September 22, 2009 6:42 am | #1Well, we seem to know just a BIT MORE about Mrs. Clinton than we do about Obama.
September 22, 2009 6:45 am | #2Now, that will only be true until the Republicans get after Obama (assuming he’s nominated by the Democrats), so you probably don’t have long to wait. Just until he moves Hillary to the side of the road and the Reps step and to make it interesting.
I’ve seen Hillary supporters on Y!A say that they dislike Obama, and I’ve seen some say that they even hate him.

I see a lot more prejudice against Hillary than Obama. He is more likable, but that doesn’t mean it is ok to hate Hillary for no reason.
September 22, 2009 7:58 am | #4Hitlery hates america but loves herself, she is an angry old leather faced bag lady. BO is for change, for bringing back what is good in the U.S., he will unite the country. She wants revenge on the country for taking down her husband when he was having his affair, she will stop at nothing to get her revenge. There is no double standard, the hate is where it needs to be
September 22, 2009 8:08 am | #5Last I checked, truly hating somebody you don’t actually know isn’t all that cool… So, it’s not really OK to poke fun at either of them, I’d say. And, yes, I’m ready for some thumbs downs.

September 22, 2009 9:29 am | #7Because He’s Black and she’s ahead in the polls, that makes it OK for some to play the race card, but the way I see it, it’s only hurting the candidates when people try to take us back a century in time with dead issues such as race.
September 22, 2009 9:34 am | #8i guess race is a touchier subject than gender. don’t know why though. people of all races discriminate against other races. you would think that this country would get over it already, but it comes from all directions though, not just white to black but from black to white, black to hispanic, hispanic to white, etc!! But yes, it is a double standard!
September 22, 2009 9:44 am | #9Double standards are never right. I have said both of those statements you have mentioned and have not been accused of being racist or sexist. My choice for President is John McCain. I hope he chooses Condi Rice as his running mate. Not because she is a she or because she is black, but because I can see her being president -which is what every presidential candidate ought to consider first in choosing his or her running mate.
September 22, 2009 9:45 am | #10OK, then let me say it. He’s the wrong black man and she’s the wrong white woman. They are both so far left that they make Joseph Stalin seem conservative.
September 22, 2009 10:03 am | #11He’s not the right Black man. He’s a poor excuse for a black man.
September 22, 2009 10:23 am | #12people that claim you are racist if you do not vote for Obama are idiots.
